Starting a new game is highly recommended both to avoid problems and to get used to mod changes. NG+ is technically supported, but not recommended as the game itself is not created with NG+ in mind and thus this mode cannot be balanced properly. The mod supports all DLCs, but doesn't require them to function properly. Large portion of the mod is dedicated to resolving these issues: fixing bugged skills and items, providing better descriptions, tweaking useless and overpowered skills and items to be more balanced, changing loot so dimeritium plate can no longer be found inside poor peasant's shack, etc. Vanilla game has lots and lots of gameplay issues: skills not working as intended or not working at all, descriptions being wrong, decoctions not doing what they're supposed to do, quest levels and experience being weirdly distributed, etc.
3.2 Consistent wording and better descriptions. 3.1 New damage formula and combat changes. This allows you to still use the vanilla parry by not moving and starting the parry action, and once you're in vanilla parry you can finally start moving while parrying. The order in which you do the combo is important though, you can't do Parry then W but only W then Parry. It is the same for the sidesteps, if you press A + Parry it will do a left sidestep, and D + Parry a sidestep to the right. When CombatSkills detects the combo W + Parry it will launch a kick move instead of a regular parry. These skills are usable through combos, for example the kick is accessible by doing Forward (W) and starting a Parry. It is also done in a way to avoid adding new keybinds to your already cluttered keybind settings.
The mod aims to add new skills without sacrificing any other skill coming from vanilla or mods.
